Procurement Officer -UPMC Ireland

Overview of role:
This person will be a key member of UPMC's procurement function. In addition to administrative tasks, the person will work closely with suppliers, with the warehouse and purchasing teams & internal stakeholders will manage the master data in the ERP system.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
1.
Purchase Order Management:
Generate, review, and process purchase orders accurately and efficiently for both clinical consumables and non-stock.
Ensure all purchase orders are accurate & appropriate for type of spend, properly documented, approved & controlled.

Vendor Management:
Communicate with suppliers and vendors to obtain quotes, negotiate terms, and resolve any issues.
Maintain and update vendor information, including contracts, pricing, and performance evaluations.
3.
Inventory Control:
Monitor and track inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock.
Coordinate with relevant departments to optimize inventory levels and reduce costs.
4.
Record Keeping:
Maintain organized and up-to-date procurement records and documentation.
Prepare reports on procurement activities as needed.
5. Cost Containment:
Assist in analysing procurement costs and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate budgeting and cost control.
6. Compliance:
Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and relevant regulations.
Keep procurement documentation maintained & create new documents as required
Stay up to date with industry best practices and procurement trends.
7. Procurement Team:
Provide administrative support to the Procurement Manager to include but not limited to:
Scheduling meetings
Preparing presentations
Handling day to day enquiries
Qualifications & Experience:
Required Experience:
* 5+ Years experience working in a Procurement team
* Financial Qualifications
* Healthcare experience advantageous
* Strong systems, Excel, Powerpoint
* ERP experience, especially SAP or Meditech
