Work Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, full‑time including 3 evenings and occasional weekends as required.
Contract: Permanent
Salary: €38,769 – 57,011 depending on experience
Reporting to: Project Manager
Role Purpose: Youth Justice Worker within the Youth Diversion Projects funded by the European Social Fund (2021‑2027) and the Irish Youth Justice Service. Responsibilities include engaging participants, coordinating with Gardaí and agencies, maintaining records, supporting employment pathways, and contributing to project development.
General Responsibilities
Identify, engage and work directly with project participants on issues related to offending, substance use and/or antisocial behaviour through a youth work process.
Process referrals to the project through the Referral Committee.
Work in partnership with Gardaí and local agencies linked to participants to develop appropriate responses to their needs.
Maintain project records and provide updates and reports, including drafting the Annual Plan in consultation with Gardaí.
Attend Project Committee meetings and provide progress updates.
Deliver youth work interventions in the catchment area in line with the approved project plan.
Assist participants in improving sustainable employment participation by identifying pathways and combating discrimination in the labour market.
Participate in approved training for project development and carry out additional duties deemed necessary by stakeholders.
Essential and Desirable Requirements
Minimum of a third‑level qualification in Youth Work (or equivalent discipline) to degree level.
At least one year of experience working with challenging young people.
Full clean driving licence and own transport is an advantage.
