ATC Language School, with locations in Bray and Dublin, is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Tour Guide to provide engaging and informative tours for international students. As a Tour Guide, you will be responsible for showcasing the local attractions, cultural sites, and historical landmarks in Bray and its surrounding areas. You will play a vital role in enhancing students' language skills while immersing them in the rich cultural heritage of Ireland.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct Guided Tours: Lead tours of Bray, Dublin and nearby attractions, providing students with captivating and educational experiences. Deliver accurate and engaging narratives about the history, culture, and significance of each location.
* Cultural Immersion: Foster cultural immersion by sharing insights into Irish traditions, customs, and local way of life. Encourage students to actively engage with the local community and interact with locals to enhance their language skills and cultural understanding.
* Provide Language Support: Assist students in practicing their language skills during tours by encouraging them to engage in conversations, ask questions, and share their observations. Provide guidance and correct language usage when necessary.
* Ensure Safety and Welfare: Ensure the safety and well-being of students throughout the tour, following established safety protocols. Be aware of any potential hazards or risks at the tour locations and take appropriate measures to prevent accidents or incidents.
* Maintain Professionalism: Represent ATC Language School in a professional manner at all times. Uphold the school's values and policies, and serve as a positive role model for students.
* Tailor Tours to Audience: Adapt tour content and delivery style based on the age, language proficiency, and interests of the student group. Make the tours interactive and engaging by incorporating activities, quizzes, or group discussions.
* Handle Questions and Feedback: Respond to student inquiries, comments, and feedback in a professional and informative manner. Address any concerns promptly and provide additional information or resources as needed.
* Collaborate with Colleagues: Work collaboratively with other tour guides and staff members to ensure the smooth operation of tours and maintain consistency in delivering high-quality experiences for students.
* Continuous Learning: Stay updated on local attractions, cultural events, and historical facts relevant to the tour locations. Continuously expand your knowledge and expertise to enhance the quality and accuracy of the guided tours.
Requirements:
* Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills with fluency in English. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
* Strong knowledge of the local area, including attractions, landmarks, historical sites, and cultural events in Bray, Dublin and surrounds.
* Previous experience as a tour guide or in a customer service role is preferred.
* Passion for sharing knowledge, storytelling, and engaging with diverse groups of students.
* Ability to adapt tour content and delivery to cater to different age groups and language proficiency levels.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills to plan and execute tours effectively.
* Friendly, approachable, and patient demeanour to interact with students from various cultural backgrounds.
* Familiarity with safety regulations and the ability to ensure the well-being of students during tours.
* Flexibility to work variable hours, including weekends or evenings, depending on tour schedules and student requirements.
* Garda Vetting application through ATC Language Schools, as role involves contact with minors.
