Overview of role: The role of Surveyor is responsible for undertaking detailed site surveys to support the design, planning and construction delivery in accordance with Irish Telecoms standards, safety requirements and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities: Survey FTTH infrastructure routes (Overhead, Underground, and Façade) to validate SIRO design intent prior to construction.

Assess existing ESB network infrastructure on OH/UG routes, including LV/MV plant, poles, ducts, chambers, and access points.

Identify and record fibre, cable, and duct sizes, pole condition, clearances, and structural suitability for FTTH deployment.

Collect data of accurate measurements, coordinates, photographs and asset condition.

Identify access constraints, environmental and health and safety risks, traffic management requirements and private land issues.

Define the most appropriate FTTH delivery solution (OH, UG, or Façade) in accordance with SIRO technical specifications and standards.

Verify that proposed FTTH routes and solutions do not conflict with ESB or third-party plant, services, or wayleaves.

Provide accurate survey reports, asset data, completed surveys and relevant notes and where required uploaded to the IT platforms i.e.

GIS/CAD.
Liaise professionally with customers, landowners, and third parties to address queries and identify wayleave requirements.

Perform all works in line with Company and client Health and Safety rules, codes of practice, method statements and HSE regulation.

Essential Skills & Knowledge Requirements: Previous experience in a similar role surveying telecoms infrastructure.

A sound understanding of overhead pole networks, underground duct/chamber systems and FTTH deployment practices.

Previous experience interpreting network drawings, maps, and proposed fibre routes.

Experience using Microsoft Office, Arc GIS/QGIS, Auto CAD and other reporting tools/portals.

Competent in the use of Survey tools (GPS, tablets, measuring equipment).

Excellent communications skills.

Fluent in spoken and written English is essential.

Ability to work independently and part of a project team.

Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

Willingness to travel as required.

Full clean driving licence.
