Job Summary:
We seek a highly organized and proactive Transport Planner to join our dynamic team.
The Transport Planner will be responsible for effective planning and coordination of transport operations within our supply chain network.
This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and optimize transport plans to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
* Coordinate with suppliers, warehouses, and retail outlets to streamline transport operations.
* Monitor and track shipment progress, ensuring compliance with delivery schedules.
* Analyze transport data to identify inefficiencies and implement improvement strategies.
* Maintain accurate records of transport activities and prepare regular reports.
* Liaise with transport providers to negotiate rates and service agreements.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
* Resolve transport-related issues or delays in a timely manner.
* Collaborate with the logistics team to forecast transport needs and plan accordingly.
* Implement and utilize transport management software to enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
* At least 5 years of experience in transport planning or logistics within a retail supply chain environment.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in transport management software (e.g., SAP TM, Oracle Transportation Management).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Familiarity with Irish transport regulations and industry best practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in the retail sector.
* Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CILT).
* Office-based with occasional visits to warehouses and distribution centers.
