We are currently recruiting a Junior Accounts Assistant to join a busy finance team within a well-established industrial and commercial business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the early stages of their accounting career who is keen to gain hands-on experience in Accounts Payable and develop into a full AP role over time.
The role is designed to provide structured learning, practical exposure, and gradual responsibility, supporting the finance team with core processes while helping modernise and streamline day-to-day workflows.
The Role
In this role, you will support the finance team with:
Assisting with the transition away from paper-based processes, supporting a move toward more digital ways of working
Saving, organising, and indexing supplier invoices accurately during the initial onboarding period
Supporting the setup and maintenance of digital invoice records
Assisting with basic Accounts Payable tasks under supervision
Helping ensure invoices are correctly filed, stored, and easily retrievable
Supporting the finance team with ad-hoc administrative and accounting tasks as required
As you build experience, training will be provided to help you progress toward:
Full Accounts Payable processing
Invoice matching and coding
Supplier queries and reconciliations
Broader exposure within the finance function
What They're Looking For
An interest in accounting or finance and a desire to build a long-term career in this area
Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
Comfortable working with computers and basic systems (Excel experience is an advantage)
A proactive, reliable attitude and willingness to learn
Previous office, admin, or finance exposure is helpful but not essential
