Principal Data Analyst
The Principal Data Analyst will be responsible for developing and maintaining business dashboards and reporting capabilities intended to drive excellence in financial and operational performance.
They will also provide analytics, data-driven solutions and strategy support for data initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities
Partner with business professionals to understand business problems deeply and collaborate across teams to solve, analysing complex data and providing strategic insight.
Develop robust reporting and analytics capabilities/processes to ensure timely and accurate analytical insights to help solve business problems.
Work effectively with cross-functional teams, manage multiple priorities and deadlines, and be detail-oriented and independent as well as collaborative.
Perform detailed and continuous business analysis, identify problems and opportunities, and recommend solutions for the business.
Transform data into meaningful and easy-to-understand insights for various audiences.
Collaborate with business development and product development managers on roadmap planning, prioritization, business requirements sessions and other key activities.
Participate in the development of the team's business strategy and technical project delivery/roadmap.
Develop and manage business plans to achieve objectives.
Capture business requirements and translate into technical specifications.
Create specifications to bring data into a common structure, create product specifications and models, and develop data solutions to support analysis.
Partner with stakeholders to understand data requirements and business needs and develop tools and models to assist in building dashboards and data visualisations if required.
Define technical, data and system configuration specifications and business analysis requirements.
Translate highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences.
Assist in the development of data products and data solutions.
Develop insights and proposals for improved business processes to enable speedy deployment and testing of future projects.
Participate in multiple phases of analytics project delivery.
Analyze processes and identify issues and obstacles to make improvements.
Evaluate gaps in processes and opportunities for automation.
Influence senior leadership to adopt new ideas, products, and/or approaches.
Required Qualifications
Degree (BA, BS) in analytics, actuarial science, mathematics, economics, business, statistics, engineering, or finance, or equivalent experience.
Experience working within technical and business professionals in a matrix management environment.
Proven track record of driving change and influencing individuals at all levels of the organization, and of taking appropriate risks.
Understanding of IT systems, databases, and other technology.
Proven track record of developing strong networks and ensuring collaboration and consensus building.
Demonstrated effective project ownership, management, drive and delivery.
Proven experience with Healthcare Analytics or similar analytic knowledge.
High proficiency with data visualization/dashboard tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience or knowledge of cloud-based data analytics (e.g. AWS, Azure, Snowflake).
Experience with medical claims data including Facility, Ancillary, and Physician.
Creative problem solving and critical thinking.
Adaptability and flexibility to thrive in a dynamic business environment.
Experience prioritising work on multiple complex assignments with ongoing deadlines.
Soft Skills
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
