Cork Reporting to: CEO Role Type:Full-Time, Permanent Role Purpose The Financial Controller will lead the finance function of Ballincollig Credit Union, ensuring robust financial management, regulatory compliance, and strategic financial planning as the credit union approaches and exceeds €100 million in total assets. This role is designated as PCF-11 (Head of Finance) under the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness & Probity Regime and is subject to regulatory approval. Key Responsibilities Financial Management & Reporting - Preparation of monthly management accounts and annual financial statements - Oversight of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis - Treasury, liquidity, and investment management - Ensuring compliance with FRS 102 - Oversee payroll, reconciliations, and ledger management Regulatory Compliance & Governance - Ensure compliance with Central Bank of Ireland regulations and Credit Union Act 1997 - Liaise with auditors and regulators - Submission of regulatory returns - Maintain strong internal control environment Strategic Financial Planning - Support strategic planning and financial modelling - Advise CEO and Board on financial risks and opportunities - Capital and balance sheet planning Controls & Risk Management - Maintain internal financial controls - Oversight of provisioning and asset classification Person Specification Qualifications - Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA) - Relevant third-level degree Experience - 3+ years post-qualification experience - Experience in financial services or regulated environment - Experience with auditors and regulators Skills & Competencies - Strong analytical skills - Communication skills - High attention to detail - Integrity and professionalism Salary Benchmark Competitive salary Applications will remain open for two weeks; however, interviews may be conducted on a rolling basis and the position may be filled before the closing date if a suitable candidate is identified.
