Job Title: Livestock Science Technician (Assistant Scientific Officer)
Location: Hillsborough
Salary: Competitive salary
Working Hours: Full-time – 37 hours per week
Duration: Temporary contract – up to 51 weeks
About the Role: An established public sector organisation is seeking a Livestock Science Technician- Assistant Scientific Officer to support research within Sustainable Livestock Systems.
The successful candidate will play a key role in animal and grassland studies, contributing to the delivery of high-quality research. This is a hands-on position involving both field and practical work, supporting ongoing scientific projects.
Please note that weekend and bank holiday work may be required as part of this role.
Main Duties:
Assist with animal and grassland studies
Feed preparation for livestock trials
Sample collection and preparation
Monitoring animal behaviour
Grass growth management and grazing arrangements
Support other activities relating to livestock and grassland research
Essential Criteria:
Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Science, Maths and English Language (Grades A*–C)
At least 6 months’ experience working with livestock
Other Information:
Full-time role based in Hillsborough
