Job Purpose The Group Technology Solutions (GTS) Data & Analytics Solutions team are responsible for the maintenance and development of our data warehousing, data analytics, and data science systems and business solutions. The team ensure that our data warehouse is up to date containing the latest data from multiple operational systems and our application systems are available for use. In addition, the team work to enhance the solutions working alongside our Business insights Team and wider IT and business colleagues. Reporting to the Data & Analytics Solutions Manager, this role will provide technical leadership to support our ongoing management and development of Data & Analytics Solutions ,with a strong focus on data architecture and innovation to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure data solutions. Key Responsibilities The principal responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following: Design, develop, and maintain the enterprise Data & Analytics technologies, ensuring alignment with business strategy and technology standards. Design and manage the structure of data systems including databases, warehouses, data lakes, lakehouses and pipelines to ensure scalability, security, and performance. Define and maintain data models, metadata, and data quality standards to improve data integration, consistency, and accessibility. Design and implement ETL/ELT processes from multiple sources into the organizations data platforms, ensuring quality and efficiency. Work with D&A Management to define long-term technology strategy and innovation roadmaps across data management, data engineering and data platformsand execution of agreed strategy. Evaluate and implement modern data technologies that drive innovation and value. Ensure that all new and enhanced Data & Analytics solutions are successfully transitioned to the support team, with appropriate handover documentation, training, and support models in place to maintain service continuity. Collaborate with IT, Business insight team, and data consumers to understand requirements and translate them into technical designs. Ensure compliance with security, data privacy, and regulatory standards in all data architecture and solution designs. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a relevant third-level qualification and at least 5 years experience designing and implementing and maintaining data models and enterprise data architecture solutions. You will have strong technical expertise and design experience with data warehousing, data modeling, and data analysis projects and in particular will have experience with modern data architecture concepts including: Cloud data platforms (MS Fabric, OCI, Azure) and modern data technologies Database and data integration tools (Oracle databases, Azure DBs, Oracle Data Integrator(ODI), MS Fabric Pipelines & DataFlows, PySpark, Azure Data Factory). Visualization and BI technologies (Power BI, Oracle Analytics (OAS/OAC)). Programming and data science languages (Python, R, PL/SQL, Java). Deep understanding of data architecture principles, entity-relationship modelling, metadata management, and data quality frameworks. Proven experience working within Agile delivery frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban), including participation in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and iterative product delivery. Strong grasp of security, privacy-by-design, and regulatory requirements in enterprise data environments. You will bequality-focused and collaborative, with excellent communication and leadership skills. Experience leading and/or mentoring data engineering and analytics teams is highly desirable.
