Reporting to President, Global Head of Clinical Solutions, the Director of Business Development-EU is responsible for selling the suite of Eliassen Group Clinical Consulting and FSP services to clients in the EU region. The Director of Business Development will be expected to develop new business within the life sciences arena by identifying prospects and opportunities, developing, and building relationships with key decision makers across various functions, recommending solutions, and driving a sales strategy that focuses on growth. As this position grows, responsibility will expand to include helping build, hire, and manage an EU sales team that will drive growth within the region.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Driving new business for clinical consulting and FSP services within the EU region that executes against certain sales targets. This includes meeting with clients, networking, qualifying job requirements effectively, negotiating bill rates with clients, and working closely with the recruiters to identify, qualify, and market qualified professionals to the client.
* Collaborate with the cross-functional teams and critical business partners to develop and execute sales strategies and tactics.
* Working with Marketing / Brand teams and strategic partners to develop a plan of action that optimizes promotional impact and takes advantage of current and future market opportunities.
* Lead and respond to RFI/RFP’s from potential clients that demonstrate EGCS service offerings across our clinical solutions suite of services
* Demonstrating a firm grasp of industry trends, understanding market conditions, or developing strategies to stay ahead of the competition and gain market share
* Collaborating with executive leadership to translate brand strategies into actionable tactics for the sales force and develop standards across regions/areas to measure success.
* Analyzing sales and operations data to monitor sales progress and develop action/coaching plans to improve sales force effectiveness/efficiency.
* Creating a high-performance work environment in which he/she builds accountability at all levels in the organization through empowerment, involvement, and collaboration. As this role grows ideally the candidate will act as a player/coach and help build a team in the EU region to continue the expansion of the EGCS business and execute sales and marketing strategies to achieve assigned sales goals as defined by EGCS vision and mission.
* Talent Development: Drive mastery of requisite skills (business acumen, selling skills, client understanding, territory management, etc.) of the sales organization by partnering with sales training and identifying key areas for development and developing an appropriate curriculum.
REQUIRED SKILLS
* Must have proven successful track record of selling clinical solutions with a strong focus on hunting and developing new business OR have proven sales experience in a highly competitive and transactional environment in Europe
* Must be able to work effectively with recruiters to convey accurate requirements and demonstrate effective level of client control.
* Show ability to develop repeat business.
* Must have high energy levels and a sense of urgency.
* Ability to successfully integrate into EG Clinical Solutions culture and transfer knowledge to others as well as uphold professional standards and reputation.
* Must have a strong passion for selling in the Life Sciences industry.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
* Candidates should have a proven track record of success with a minimum of 8+ years of sales and business development experience in the life sciences industry in Europe
* Preferred experience with direct management of a field sales team
* Proven track record coaching, developing, and promoting direct reports, while consistently delivering exceptional sales results as an individual contributory.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
* Strong commitment to demonstrating the highest level of ethics, integrity, trust, courage, and candor.
* High personal accountability for actions and results, including devotion and commitment to the success of the organization, peers, and eventual direct reports.
The base salary rate will be commensurate with experience level and past success. A competitive commission structure is also provided.
