Bank Phlebotomist We are currently seeking to recruit Phlebotomists to join our Bank Phlebotomy Team based in the Mater Private Dublin.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
1. To be professionally responsible for all aspects of the post-holders own work.
2. To be responsible for obtaining blood samples with skill and dexterity.
3. To be responsible for the correct labeling of blood bottles while ensuring that the correct volume of blood is inserted as per the Department guidelines.
4. To facilitate and coordinate a timely and planned phlebotomy service
5. To ensure that all reasonable precautions and safeguards are in place to provide a safe place of work for all persons working in the phlebotomy department in accordance with the current health safety at work legislation.
6. To have up to date current knowledge and to adhere to the principles set down by the infection control manual.
7. Ensure compliance with relevant procedures, best practice methods and all relevant ISO ***** based standards and Hospital JCI standards.
Requirements Include: Experience of ISO ***** laboratory accreditation and JCI Hospital accreditation is desirable Good general standard of education is required.
Phlebotomy experience.
The successful candidate should possess excellent interpersonal skills and awareness/ sensitivity towards patient needs Job description available on request.
