Role Overview
We are seeking a Quality Control Officer to support food safety, quality, and compliance within a raw-to-cooked meat processing environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring products are safe, compliant, and produced to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure strict segregation between raw and cooked areas
* Carry out in-process quality checks (weights, metal detection, cooking and chilling)
* Verify Critical Control Points (CCPs), including cooking, cooling, and metal detection
* Perform final product checks prior to release
* Conduct microbiological sampling
* Coordinate external laboratory testing and review results
* Verify production quality records and checks
* Carry out hygiene and pre-operational checks
* Identify and report non-conformances and support corrective actions
* Perform internal audits
* Provide training to staff
* Support audits and regulatory inspections
* Undertake additional quality-related responsibilities as required to support the business and role development
Ideal Candidate
* Experience working in a high-risk or cooked food environment (desirable)
* Experience in food manufacturing or meat processing
* Strong knowledge of HACCP and food safety controls
* Comfortable working on the factory floor
* High attention to detail with strong documentation skills
* Strong communication skills
* Strong computer skills
* High level of spoken and written English
* Own transport required due to remote location
