Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Research Projects Chartered Accountant within UCD School of Computer Science - CeADAR.
Applications are invited for the position of Research Projects Accountant in CeADAR - Ireland's Centre for Artificial Intelligence. CeADAR is seeking a talented individual to play a key role in our Operations and Finance team. The role will involve providing accurate and timely financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to the CEO and Senior Management Team. The role requires a proven ability to work as part of a team and maintain confidentiality and discretion to a very high level.
CeADAR is based in University College Dublin and is funded by the government to help companies embrace AI. CeADAR is also the designated European Digital Innovation Hub for AI in Ireland and thus works extensively in Europe. The applied research at CeADAR covers broad aspects of AI and data analytics using advanced machine learning to deal with structured and unstructured data coming from many different sectors. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in this strategic and nationally important area of AI and Analytics where CeADAR is shaping the strategy at national and EU level.
Salary Range: €53,000 - €68,000 Per Annum
Appointment on the above range will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Additional Information
Eligibility criteria

Chartered accountant - ACA/ACCA qualified with 2+ years post-qualification experience, preferably in a third level environment.
A minimum of 3 years' experience in a computerised accounting environment.
Knowledge and strong experience in Workday or other computerised accounting package are essential.
Strong financial management framework encompassing robust budgeting and forecasting.
Project accounting/budget management experience.
Strong at internal controls and risk management to ensure financial health.
Excellent numerical and analytical skills with previous financial accounting experience.
Meticulous expense tracking and cost control procedures implementation.
Well-developed organisational skills with a proven ability to manage various tasks in a busy environment and prioritise; accordingly, deadline oriented with good attention to detail.
Confident problem solver, resourceful with the ability to troubleshoot basic issues (including IT) independently.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential; the successful candidate will be comfortable explaining complex financial information and concepts and issues, to both internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent technical financial and computer skills; confident user of IT as a driver of efficiency with a high level of competency in MS Office applications, including Microsoft Excel as a support tool for reporting and analysis.
Adaptable, working effectively and flexibly in a climate of changing priorities, supporting team members to take confident responsibility for own work role.
Flexible approach to working hours; particularly at certain time of the year to support reporting requirements.


Previous experience in an organisation of similar scale or in a Public Sector/ University environment would be an advantage.
Knowledge of University Procedures and Systems.
Familiarity with European project accounting.
Audit preparation experience.
