Job Title: Auditor

Department: Network

Reports to: Network Manager

About the Company:

DPD Ireland leads the field in next day parcel delivery throughout Ireland, with 37 regionally based collection and delivery depots and a state of the art central sorting hub in Athlone, Co. Westmeath.

Purpose of the role:

We are currently recruiting for an Auditor to join the Compliance team in our Head Office in Athlone. The Auditor will lead and execute the full internal audit cycle across depots, ensuring operational integrity, regulatory compliance, and the effective mitigation of risk through rigorous examination and proactive staff training.

Job Responsibilities:

* Ensure compliance with established internal control procedures by examining records, reports, and operating practices across depots in Ireland.

* Verify audit findings by comparing results against supporting documentation.

* Complete audit work papers by accurately documenting audit tests and findings.

* Communicate audit findings by preparing final reports and discussing findings with auditees.

* Ensure compliance with legal, licensing, and ISO requirements, enforcing adherence and advising management on required actions.

* Prepare special audit and control reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising operational information and trends.

* Contribute to overall team objectives by delivering related tasks and outcomes as required.

* Perform and maintain oversight of the full audit cycle, including reliability, regulatory compliance, and risk management.

* Attend meetings with auditees to gain a clear understanding of how their business operates.

* Travel to various depots countrywide to meet relevant staff and obtain required information.

* Provide advice and guidance to staff and management, including through training sessions and courses where appropriate.

* Research and assess the effectiveness of risk management processes and use relevant software to record and report findings.

The above list is not an exhaustive list of duties. You will be expected to perform different tasks as necessitated by your changing role within the organisation and the overall business objectives of the organisation.

Experience Required:

* Experience with Audit Software - iauditor etc

Experience Preferred:

* Previous experience in a similar role is desired.

Qualifications Required:

* Must have a Full Clean Driver License. Own car is essential.

Skills Required:

* Strong, proven communication skills with a wide range of stakeholders.

* Ability to work effectively on own initiative as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

* Strong analytical skills with the ability to review reports and make informed decisions and recommendations aligned to best practice.

* Ability to organise and manage schedules to meet deadlines and audit submission requirements.

* Well-developed planning, organising, and monitoring capabilities.

* Flexibility to adapt plans and schedules in response to changing business demands.

* Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to deliver clear, constructive feedback.

* High standard of both written and verbal communication.

* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.

* Meticulous attention to detail with a structured, analytical approach to work.

* Strong work ethic with a high level of integrity and professionalism.

* Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and a commitment to continuous improvement.
