Safety Officer Job Description

We are presently recruiting for a Safety officer to join our team. This position is based in Limerick and will require travel to locations within the Southwest Region of Ireland.

As a Safety officer, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, conducting risk assessments, inspecting sites, investigating incidents, advising on best practices and promoting a safe working environment across all agency operations.
">
This is a contract position, initially for 6 months with the option of extension.
">
Responsibilities:
">

* Conduct regular site inspections to identify hazards
">
* Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and regulations
">
* Prepare risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)
">
* Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses
">
* Train workers on safety protocols and proper equipment use
">
* Monitor use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
">
* Liaise with site managers, contractors, and regulatory bodies
">
* Keep records of inspections, incidents, and safety reports
">
* Advises on best practices for site safety management
">
* Promote a culture of safety awareness across the workforce
">
">
Qualifications and experiences:
">
">
* A Level 7 Qualification (National Framework of Qualifications), in Occupational Health and Safety, is an essential minimum requirement.
">
* A Level 8 Qualification in Occupational Health and Safety is desirable.
">
* * (or equivalent) No less than 3 years satisfactory experience of construction work and knowledge of construction methods, site management and construction design process
">
* Experience on river / flood defence works would be an advantage
">
* Current SafePass Card
">
* Valid driving licence
">
* Use of own transport
">

The salary is negotiable based on experience.
