Overview of the Role
The role is responsible for leading both the strategic and day-to-day delivery of HR services across a large workforce of 700+ employees, potentially across multiple locations.
You will play a central role in shaping a positive workplace culture, supporting leaders, and ensuring HR practices align with business goals. This position combines leadership, operational excellence, and strategic thinking to support organisational success.
Key Responsibilities

Lead, support, and develop a high-performing HR team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment
Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to team members
Address performance or behavioural concerns in a timely and fair manner
Partner with site leadership to develop and deliver HR strategies that support business objectives
Act as a trusted advisor to managers on people-related matters, including performance, engagement, and development
Support workforce planning and talent strategies aligned with short- and long-term goals
Promote a respectful, inclusive, and positive working environment
Provide guidance on employee relations matters including conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and investigations
Lead engagement initiatives such as surveys, focus groups, and town halls to enhance employee experience
Ensure compliance with all relevant employment legislation and internal policies
Provide guidance on HR policies and ensure consistent application across the organisation
Maintain high standards of data integrity and confidentiality
Partner with Talent Acquisition to deliver effective recruitment strategies
Support onboarding processes to ensure a positive new hire experience
Lead initiatives in talent management, succession planning, and leadership development
Lead and support organisational change initiatives in partnership with leadership teams
Use data and insights (e.g. turnover, engagement, diversity metrics) to inform decision-making
Drive continuous improvement across HR processes and services
Review and support compensation and benefits decisions to ensure fairness and consistency
Work closely with HR Centres of Excellence to deliver integrated HR solutions
Use HR systems to analyse trends and improve organisational outcomes

Skills & Experience

Minimum 7 years’ progressive experience in Human Resources
At least 3 years’ experience managing and developing teams
Experience supporting HR within a manufacturing or similar operational environment
Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive insights and improvements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
HR certification (e.g. PHR, SPHR, SHRM-SCP)
Experience with HR systems such as Workday
Experience working in unionised environments and/or leading change initiatives
