Overview
A well-established, highly respected and long-standing medium-sized law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Secretary to support one of their Partners within a busy and fast-paced litigation team. This is a key support role requiring strong prior litigation experience, ideally including personal injury and general litigation matters. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the Partner’s caseload and providing high-quality secretarial and administrative support.
Key Responsibilities
Providing full secretarial support to a Litigation Partner
Typing dictation, correspondence, pleadings and legal documents
Managing diaries, arranging meetings and coordinating court deadlines
Handling incoming calls and liaising with clients, counsel, courts and insurers
Preparing court bundles and supporting case progression from instruction through to resolution
File management, including opening, closing and maintaining accurate records
Assisting with billing, time recording and general administrative duties
Ensuring all work is completed accurately and within required timeframes in a fast-paced environment
Essential Skills and Experience
Previous experience working as a Legal Secretary within litigation is essential
Strong knowledge of personal injury and general litigation processes
Excellent typing and audio transcription skills
High level of accuracy, organisation and attention to detail
Ability to manage a busy workload and work to tight deadlines
Strong communication skills and a professional, client-focused approach
Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal case management systems (desirable)
