A leading global life sciences organisation is seeking a
Robotics Engineer
to support the design and implementation of advanced automation solutions across a high-value pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
The successful candidate will take a lead role in delivering robotics integration projects involving
Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs)
,
loading and unloading systems
, and
vial tracking technologies
.
This position will work closely with global automation and CAPEX teams to enhance operational efficiency, support GMP compliance, and ensure seamless integration with higher-level systems such as MES/eBR, fleet management, and OT domains.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and validate robotics and AMR systems within a GMP-regulated fill-finish environment
Integrate robotics into electronic batch record (eBR), fleet management, and historian systems
Lead vendor evaluations, manage external partners, and oversee project execution
Develop technical documentation, design specifications, and validation plans (URS, FAT, IQ/OQ, etc.)
Collaborate with IT, OT, and CQV teams to ensure system compliance, cybersecurity, and technical readiness
Support user training, SOP development, and project handover activities
Required Experience:
Degree in Engineering, Automation, or Computer Science (or equivalent)
5–10 years' experience delivering robotics or AMR projects in a GMP or highly regulated manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of
GMP
and
validation
principles
Proven background in
automation integration
and vendor management
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Willingness to be on-site in Cork full-time during implementation (3 days/week during design phase)
