Job Title: Service Manager
This is a dynamic leadership role that requires an individual with exceptional management skills and experience working in the Health or Social Care sector.
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized professional to lead our residential disability services in Limerick. The successful candidate will have full responsibility, authority, and accountability for the day-to-day operation of designated services, ensuring they are delivered in line with HIQA regulations, the Health Act 2007, and the National Standards for Residential Services for Children and Adults with Disabilities (2013).
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading high-performing teams, managing budgets, and implementing change initiatives. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with service users, families, staff, and external professionals.
Main Responsibilities:
* Service Provision & Leadership: Manage and oversee residential and community-based services within your remit, act as Person in Charge (PIC) in compliance with HIQA standards and regulations, and lead, support, and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary team.
* Assessment & Care Planning: Complete assessments for individuals referred to Resilience services, ensure each service user has a comprehensive Individual Support Plan developed in consultation with the individual and relevant stakeholders, review and update care plans as required, and at least annually.
* Health & Wellbeing: Ensure service users have access to appropriate medical and healthcare supports, maintain safe medication management practices, conduct regular audits, and implement corrective actions where required.
* Staff Management & Development: Ensure appropriate staffing levels and skill mix in line with service user needs, facilitate staff training, development, and compliance with mandatory requirements, and conduct regular 1:1 meetings and maintain accurate records.
* Communication & Relationships: Maintain positive relationships with service users, families, staff, and external professionals, communicate effectively regarding service user wellbeing and service safety, report concerns to the relevant authorities within the required timeframes.
* Administration & Compliance: Maintain accurate and professional service user and staff records, ensure compliance with internal and external reporting requirements, audit service user documentation, and operational systems.
* Health, Safety & Risk Management: Promote a safe working environment in line with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, ensure incidents, accidents, and safeguarding concerns are reported and reviewed, maintain fire safety and emergency procedures, and ensure equipment and facilities are safe, maintained, and fit for purpose.
* Safeguarding & Protection: Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are implemented effectively, promote service user welfare and protection at all times, and report safeguarding concerns within the required timeframes.
* Continuous Improvement: Embrace change and contribute to service development, play an active role in the ongoing growth and improvement of Resilience services.
Eligibility Criteria:
* Qualifications: Degree in Applied Social Studies in Social Care or equivalent, post-registration management qualification in health or a related field.
* Experience: Minimum 3 years management experience in Health or Social Care, strong working knowledge of HIQA regulations and inspections, experience supporting adults and/or children with Intellectual Disabilities and/or Autism.
