This is a major large‑scale residential development comprising multiple multi‑storey buildings, high‑rise elements, commercial spaces, landscaped areas and extensive public‑realm works. The project is heavily RC frame–led, involving significant structural concrete works, complex logistics, tower cranes, formwork systems and multiple subcontractor interfaces. Strong safety governance and compliance are essential throughout delivery.
Role Overview
A leading RC frame contractor is seeking an experienced Safety Officer to manage and coordinate health & safety across their structural concrete package. This is a site‑based role with a strong focus on RC frames, concrete pours, temporary works, working at height and plant operations within a busy, multi‑phase construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
Implement the company’s Health & Safety Management System on site
Oversee safety for RC frames, formwork, reinforcement and concrete operations
Conduct daily site inspections, audits and safety walks
Review and monitor RAMS, lifting plans and temporary works procedures
Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings
Ensure compliance with Irish HSA legislation and project safety standards
Investigate incidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions
Liaise with main contractor and project H&S teamsSupport coordination across multiple work fronts, including high‑rise elements
Requirements
3+ years’ experience as a Safety Officer on Irish construction sites
Experience with RC frame or structural concrete projects desirable
Background in large-scale residential or high‑rise developments preferred
NEBOSH / IOSH / QQI Level 6+ in Occupational Health & Safety
Strong knowledge of HSA regulations and site compliance
Confident communicator with strong site presence
