Job Title:
Operations Manager

Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
2. Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for goods receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
3. Ensure on-time and accurate order fulfilment, while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
4. Maintain control over inventory levels and location accuracy.
5. Manage regular stocktakes, audits, and root cause analysis of variances.
6. Monitor demand patterns to align inventory with sales forecasts.
7. Coordinate supplier deliveries, 3PL operations, returns, and stock transfers.
8. Support the rollout and optimisation of ERP and related systems.
9. Align workflows with operational processes to ensure practical implementation.
10. Enforce operational team compliance with documentation and systems use.
11. Liaise with IT/system leads to address system-related issues.
12. Collaborate with Sales, Finance, and Customer Service to ensure operational readiness.
13. Proactively communicate stock availability, order timelines, and delivery status.
14. Represent operations in planning meetings and interdepartmental discussions.
15. Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, pick rate, delivery timeliness, inventory accuracy, and cost per order.
16. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise throughput and reduce inefficiencies.
17. Embed a performance-driven culture across the operational team.
18. Explore emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) and automation, to enhance operations.
19. Lead and support the warehouse and operational staff, ensuring clear expectations and performance alignment.
20. Conduct regular team briefings and one-on-ones.
21. Recruit, train, and develop team members to support business growth.
22. Manage rostering, workload planning, and resource distribution.
23. Actively contribute to overall business strategy as part of the senior leadership team.
24. Translate business goals into operational execution plans.
Requirements:
1. Strong operational execution skills, particularly in logistics, warehousing, and fulfilment.
2. High systems literacy, especially with enterprise resource planning (ERP)/inventory platforms.
3. Proven leadership and team management experience in a fast-paced environment.
4. Excellent cross-departmental communication and coordination.
5. Commercial awareness and understanding of cost efficiency and return on investment (ROI).
6. Hands-on mentality with strong problem-solving abilities.
7. Commitment to continuous improvement and scalable growth.
8. Accountability and results orientation.
