Gourmet Food Parlour is delighted to offer new exciting job opportunities at our Brown Thomas location, situated in the heart of Dublin's renowned department store. Our restaurant is known for its stylish atmosphere, outstanding service, delicious food, and expertly crafted wine and cocktail menus.

We're currently looking for enthusiastic and experienced Front of House and Bar Staff, Full time and Part time, to become part of our dynamic team. We're seeking individuals who are passionate about hospitality, customer-focused, and committed to providing a warm, high-quality experience for every guest-from welcoming diners and ensuring smooth service to preparing and serving drinks with flair.

Front Of House Duties And Responsibilities

* Welcome customers and lead them to their seats
* Introduce our menus and describe different dishes and drinks
* Make recommendations on specialties
* Take orders and process correctly through EPOS system.
* Deliver orders to the table in a timely manner
* Maintain a section of the restaurant ensuring customers are looked after through all stages of their visit.
* Adhere to food, sanitary and safety standards
* Inspect the quality and looks of the dishes, making sure they uphold standards
* Identify and resolve any special requirements, wants and needs of customers.
* Be confident in handling complaints and issues calmly
* Deliver checks and accept payment
* Collaborate closely with other staff members

Requirements And Qualifications

* 1 year of experience as a wait staff or similar role
* Knowledge of cash register and any ordering information system
* Customer oriented approach
* Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
* Great interpersonal and communication skills
* Be calm under pressure & be able to multitask
* Strong food and wine knowledge
* Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
* Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays
* Meet store operating policies and standards adhering to HACCP guidelines and store safety and security.
* Engage with and understand other team members through clear and pleasant communication
* Comply within company dress and personal hygiene code that meets HACCP guidelines
* Available to perform many different tasks within the store during each shift
* Have a valid work permit/visa

We are also looking for an experienced Barista/bartender to join our team on a Full Time and Part time basis in our Brown Thomas Restaurants.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Proven work experience working as a bartender/barista. Minimum 1 year experience.

Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing and serving drinks

Excellent knowledge of preparing all coffee types and hot beverages that meet quality standards

Knowledge of operating/maintaining and cleaning coffee machine and grinder.

Preparation of dessert plates and displays.

Positive attitude and excellent communication skills

Ability to keep the bar organized, stocked and clean

Making drinks and remembering cocktail recipes

Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all the menu offerings

Be able to recommend options based on a customers preferences

Properly handle and maintain all equipment

Respond to orders, questions, concerns, and complaints in a polite and efficient manner

Accurately handle cash and credit card payments, following appropriate cash-handling procedures

Observe relevant health and safety standards

Clean bar and all equipment and reset and restock up for the next shift as necessary

Demonstrate excellence in customer service, acknowledging customers even when not in direct contact on the floor

Be ready to assist the Front of house team in service as needed

Requirements:

Meet store operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, meeting HACCP guidelines, cash handling and store safety and security.

Engage with and understand our customers, including discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication

Comply with a strict dress and personal hygiene code that meets HACCP guidelines

Prepare food and beverages to standard recipes and/or customized to meet our customers' requirements

Available to perform many different tasks within the store during each shift

Desirable :

Relevant training certificate

Barista training

Latte art

Wine knowledge

Cocktail/mixology experience

Good Knowledge of the hospitality industry
