Job Description:

We are looking for Electrical Engineer/Onshore Substation Engineer with relevant experience, available immediately, to join our offices in Dublin, Cork, Galway, and Dundalk.
Typical OSW activities:
The successful applicant will provide technical expertise in proposals and projects, representing the company in client meetings as appropriate. Activities include:
* Feasibility Studies
* Specification preparation
* Technical Bid Review
* Design Assurance
* Design Review
* Site and FAT visits
* OEM Support Services
* Technical expert services
* Some original design involvement
You will liaise with internal and external teams, including HVDC, Civils, Cable, and P&C teams, to offer comprehensive end-to-end services to clients.
Qualifications:
* Degree and/or master's in electrical engineering, power engineering, or equivalent.
* Chartered status (CEng) or working towards Chartership with a relevant institution.
Technical and industry expertise:
* Significant knowledge of OSW technology and projects, with a grounding in power systems engineering.
* Experience coordinating across project disciplines, external subcontractors, and remote offices, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
* Relevant experience in OSW, typically at Site Engineer or Engineering Supervisor level.
* Understanding of Systems Engineering principles, requirements management, and power system interactions with OSW installations and the Irish electricity grid.
* Ability to communicate customer requirements, lead technical discussions, and develop client relationships.
* Ability to work under deadlines while maintaining safety, quality, and engineering integrity.
* Strong communication skills, experienced in technical reports and client interactions.
Responsibilities:
* Complete physical engineering designs, generate plans, specifications, calculations, exhibits, and reports.
* Knowledge of Substation Physical Engineering design for utility and renewable substations.
* Design according to current standards (Eirgrid, ESB, NG, IEC, IEEE).
* Perform technical calculations under supervision.
* Collaborate with other disciplines on structural and civil design requirements.
* Adhere to policies and procedures in drawing preparation.
* Manage project stages within timeframes and budgets, providing guidance on schedules and hours.
