Our client is seeking an experienced Network Firewall Architect to join a large, complex enterprise environment supporting c.4,000 users across 200 sites nationwide.
This is a senior role and you will be responsible for defining and leading the firewall architecture, strategy, and roadmap, with a strong focus on Palo Alto firewalls in a hybrid (Azure) environment.
Key Responsibilities
Own the architecture and design of the organisation’s Palo Alto firewall estate
Produce HLDs, LLDs, rulesets, and change documentation
Lead and oversee firewall implementations (internal & MSP teams)
Act as a key stakeholder across projects and change governance
Contribute to incident response planning and act as escalation during major incidents
Drive continuous improvement, security remediation, and bi-annual rule reviews
Provide subject-matter expertise and mentor junior engineers
Key Requirements
5+ years’ experience in firewall architecture
Strong hands‑on experience with Palo Alto firewalls
Experience in hybrid cloud / Azure environments
Solid understanding of cybersecurity processes, GRC, and incident response
Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
Relevant degree and Palo Alto / cybersecurity certifications preferred.
