Job Description:
A Clinical Nurse Manager is required for an established nursing home in Cavan. This nursing home offers an opportunity to play a crucial part in a dynamic and forward-thinking company which provides fantastic support.
Position: Clinical Nurse Manager
Reporting to: Director of Nursing
Qualifications
CNM Recruitment Requirements:
1. Registered Nurse with NMBI (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland).
2. Strong knowledge of HIQA standards, the Health Act 2007, and associated regulations for older person care.
3. Minimum of 1 year experience as a Staff Nurse.

Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership and Supervision:
o Provide professional and clinical leadership within the unit.
o Supervise qualified and unqualified staff, maintaining a safe working environment.
o Lead infection control initiatives and manage infectious disease protocols.
2. Operational Management:
o Support the Nurse Manager in unit management and deputize in her absence.
o Take charge of the unit, ensuring safe staffing levels.
o Complete notifications to relevant authorities in the Nurse Manager's absence.
3. Quality Care:
o Deliver evidence-based nursing care.
o Monitor care to ensure the well-being of residents.
4. Policies and Procedures:
o Adhere to policies, standards, legislation, and codes of practice.
o Contribute to the development of unit policies, quality improvements, and health and safety standards.
5. Training and Education:
o Ability to organize continuing education, guide, and assess staff performance.
o Lead orientation for new staff and act as a preceptor for students.
o Encourage personal and professional development.
6. Communication and Teamwork:
o Facilitate good communication within the team.

Job Requirements:
1. Qualified Nurse with at least 3 years Management experience in the last 6 years in care of the older person.
2. Post registration management qualification in health or a related field.
3. Proven track record in healthcare clinical management.

6. Ability to work well and promote a team environment.
