Job Title: Senior Estimator Utilities & Infrastructure Location:Galway, Ireland Type:Full-Time, Permanent Reports To:Head of Pre-Construction ** You must be living in Ireland to be considered for this role** Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and motivatedSenior Estimatorto join our clients dynamic pre-construction team. Based in Galway, you will play a key role in the preparation of accurate and competitive cost estimates for large-scale utility and infrastructure projects across Ireland. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of civil engineering and utility works, combined with strong commercial acumen and the ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously. Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for a range of water, wastewater, power, and infrastructure projects. Interpret drawings, specifications, and technical reports to prepare accurate bills of quantities and pricing schedules. Liaise with internal teams including design, procurement, and operations to develop robust and competitive bids. Engage with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotes and assess risks and opportunities. Conduct tender reviews and value engineering exercises to optimize project proposals. Support negotiations during pre-award phases and participate in handover to project delivery teams. Keep up to date with industry trends, market prices, and benchmarking data. Mentor junior estimators and contribute to the development of best practices within the estimating team. Requirements: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Minimum 7+ years of estimating experience in the utilities, infrastructure, or civil engineering sectors. Strong knowledge of Irish construction and procurement practices. Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Causeway, Conquest, Candy) and MS Office Suite. Excellent analytical, numerical, and presentation skills.
