MULTI-SKILLED WORKSHOP OPERATIVE WORKING WITH STEELBased in Clane, Co Kildare.Reporting to: The Engineering Director**We are looking for a person who can initially work accurately with steel, spray paint the fabricated parts, assemble, wire up and test the item, Over time they can train a replacement fabricator and concentrate on the the more technical role of assembly and testing.We make custom weighing equipment that when finished weighs about 20kg.This is a key, multi skilled role, NOT suitable for single skill personnel.Machine tools in place are Bandsaw, 2 Pillar Drills, Milling machine, Lathe, Tapping machine, Magnetic Drill, Belt Sander, various sized angle grinders, Welders and a Paint Spraying booth.The primary role of this position will be to fabricate steel belt scale weigh frames for conveyors and crushers from standard steel sections using the equipment above.The spray painting of these items using compressed air spraying in the new spray boothAssembly of the above fabricated components with bought in parts and wiring up of same.Documentation of all components used to make complete scalesTesting of finished scales to ensure they perform properly.All work to be carried out to a high standard and in accordance with all Health & Safety regulationsResponsibilitiesEssentialYou will be capable of working independently or as part of a team.Have an innovative mind for making jigs to aid and speed up production.Ability to set equipment to cut or drill squarely and accurately.Keep a tidy safe workshopExcellent interpersonal skills and communication skills are essential.Accurate completion of fabrication reports and timesheetsTo be fully aware of the company's quality policies and procedures.To behave at all times in a safe manner ensuring no injury to yourself or those around youAny other duties as are deemed appropriateDesirableFully time served fabricator in a similar roleAbility to read CAD drawings for dimensions etcCapable of organizing production by priority.Company BenefitsWe pay favourable rates depending on your experience20 days holidays per year plus Bank HolidaysRole should expand to become supervisor and organizer of others.Hours or work are from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm.
