Our client,
a global engineering, procurement, construction management, and validation (EPCMV) firm that serves clients in various industries, including advanced technology, life sciences, and food and beverage are currently searching for a Quantity Surveyorin Cork. Our client offer a range of services, from project management to process design and construction, and focus on delivering innovative solutions that meet their clients’ specific needs. The successful candidate will receive an excellent remuneration package and work on a multi million pharmaceutical project.
Responsibilities
1. Perform comprehensive cost control functions throughout all project phases, including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
2. Prepare accurate cost plans, budget estimates, and cost reports from the initial concept development to detailed design and construction stages.
3. Develop tender enquiry packages for Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, and Electrical contracts.
4. Analyze and evaluate contractor tender bids, providing insightful recommendations to support decision-making processes.
5. Administer contract packages in the field, including assessing variations, tracking progress, and facilitating final account agreements.
6. Collaborate with the project team to ensure effective contract administration during installation and construction until project closure.
7. Contribute to in-house earned value progress measurement during the design phase, providing valuable insights for project performance assessment.
8. Assist in the preparation of project schedules, ensuring alignment with cost estimates and project objectives.
9. Maintain accurate records of historic data and benchmarking metrics to support future projects and continuous improvement.
Requirements
10. Hold a relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
11. Minimum 3 years experience
12. Possess practical experience in a construction environment, demonstrating expertise in pre and post contract duties.
13. Familiarity with cost management, contracts administration, and procurement processes.
14. Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting contractor tender bids and contract documents.
15. Strong knowledge of construction industry practices, including building codes, regulations, and standards.
16. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to evaluate cost data and produce accurate reports.
17. Proficient in utilizing software tools for cost estimation, reporting, and project management.
18. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work seamlessly with project teams and stakeholders.
