The Role We are currently recruiting an experienced General Maintenance Person to join a busy and hands-on maintenance team, providing support across hotel and retail sites.
This is a full-time, permanent role offering variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to work within a well-structured team.
Key Responsibilities Carry out day-to-day maintenance tasks across multiple sites as assigned by the Group Maintenance Manager Respond promptly to urgent maintenance issues, especially those affecting safety or business continuity Perform general upkeep of guest rooms, public spaces, and staff areas Work closely with contractors for specialist repairs and ensure standards are maintained Support implementation of preventative maintenance programmes for all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems Ensure all work is completed with a strong focus on safety, especially during trading hours Keep clear and accurate maintenance records, including repairs, safety checks, and compliance documentation Monitor energy usage and suggest improvements for efficiency Store and maintain tools and equipment safely and appropriately Communicate regularly with the Maintenance Manager and relevant site managers on task progress Escalate larger or specialist issues to be handled by external contractors when necessary Remain flexible and willing to support across all sites as required Key Requirements 2-3 years' experience in a similar maintenance role Practical skills in areas such as painting, plumbing, basic building work, or general repairs Ability to work independently and as part of a wider maintenance team Good awareness and understanding of health & safety practices Excellent communication and organisation skills Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to task management Fluent English (written and spoken) A qualification in electrical work is an advantage but not essential Benefits Free parking Uniform provided Access to Group Pension Scheme Group Health Insurance (Discounted Rates) Staff Reward & Recognition Initiatives Employee Assistance Programme Skills: Chef Leadership High pressure
