Fire Safety Engineer

This position involves providing risk management advice to protect staff, public, and patients from fire-related hazards while ensuring compliance with legal and statutory obligations related to fire health and safety prevention.

Key responsibilities include:

* Regular inspections of buildings, means of escape, and fire-fighting equipment to ensure they are properly located, well-marked, in good repair, and in good working order.
">
* Providing input into the risk assessment process and inspection within the area of fire maintenance and infrastructural risk.
">
* Reviewing and drawing up of fire orders, including evacuation schemes for various types of buildings and institutions.
">
* Ensuring that all hydrants are clearly identified and arranging regular fire drills in each institution.
">
* Monitoring the water supply in all divisions of each institution to ensure it is sufficient for firefighting purposes.
">
* Advising on interpretation of Health Technical Memorandums, Fire Protection Standards, and Building Regulations issued by Government Departments.
">
* Maintaining records of all inspections, fires, evacuation drills, fire-fighting equipment, and requirements.

The ideal candidate will have:

* Degree qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.

* Depth and breadth of experience in construction and maintenance of buildings or installation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and heating services.

* Skills in Fire Safety Engineering and Fire Prevention.
