Location: Kildare Town
Salary Scale: €61,440 - €79,126 DOE
The South Kildare West Wicklow Children’s Disability Network Team operates a biopsychosocial model and adopts a Family‑Centred Approach. The Senior Social Worker works as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide clinical support to children aged 0‑18 years with complex needs associated with a disability and to their families. The team provides supports across South Kildare and West Wicklow, and the Senior will have leadership responsibilities within the team.
Responsibilities
* Be responsible for managing and prioritising your own caseload in the context of the overall service
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families with a disability where required
* Determine the most appropriate social work methods of practices that would best enhance the quality of life of the person with a disability
* Inform the individual with a disability and their family of their rights, entitlements, benefits and services
* Act as an advocate for children and families with a disability where appropriate
* Liaise with Health Service Executive and relevant voluntary and statutory agencies in relation to the provision of personal and social services
* Work as part of the interdisciplinary team and engage in collaborative goal setting as a team
* Participate in case formulation meetings/case reviews as required
* Contribute to the planning of the service priorities as required
* Be fully aware of and compliant with current child protection and safeguarding legislation and local policies and procedures
Requirements
* Possess a relevant Social Work qualification
* Have 3 years full time (or an aggregate of 3 years full time) relevant post qualification experience
* Must be registered with and maintain registration on the Social Worker Register maintained by the Social Work Registration Board at CORU
* Demonstrate the ability to ensure a high standard of service is delivered
* Demonstrate organisational and planning skills with effective interpersonal and communication skills
* Experience of working with children and families
* Experience of working in disability services
* Full clean driving licence and use of own car
