Job Title: Staff Grade Physiotherapist - Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit Location: Waterford City, Ireland Job Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 1-year contract Salary: HSE Pay Scale (commensurate with experience) Excel Recruitment is delighted to partner with a leading rehabilitation service in Waterford City to recruit a Staff Grade Physiotherapist for their Inpatient Rehab Unit. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly skilled and supportive MDT focused on enabling patients to regain independence and quality of life. Job Purpose: To provide high quality, patient-centred physiotherapy interventions within an inpatient rehabilitation service, supporting patients in their functional recovery, promoting mobility, and contributing to safe discharge planning. The successful candidate will work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based rehabilitation programs and optimise patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Provide evidence based Physiotherapy assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation to adult and older adult patients Conduct comprehensive mobility and functional assessments and set individualised rehab goals Design and implement exercise programs to enhance strength, balance, and functional independence Work closely with the MDT, including nursing, occupational therapy, medical, and social work teams, to support safe and effective discharge planning Participate in daily MDT meetings and case discussions Monitor patient progress, adapt treatment plans as needed, and document interventions accurately Educate patients and families on mobility techniques, falls prevention, and self -management strategies Contribute to service improvement initiatives and uphold best-practice standards Essential Requirements: BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy (CORU registration essential) Minimum 6 months of post-qualification experience Experience in an inpatient rehabilitation, gerontology, ortho, neuro experience preferred Excellent clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment Previous work in stroke, orthopaedic, or geriatric rehab units Familiarity with discharge planning and community liaison Experience using mobility aids, gait re-education, and functional rehab programs Involvement in falls prevention initiatives or mobility training workshops Availability to start at the end of November 2025 (essential) This is a fantastic opportunity to advance your Physiotherapy career in a supportive, patient-focused rehabilitation environment.
