Job Title: Food and Beverage Manager Location: Aherlow House Hotel, Glen of Aherlow, Co.
Tipperary Department: Food & Beverage Reports to: General Manager Overview: Aherlow House Hotel is seeking a dynamic and experienced Food and Beverage Manager to oversee and drive the standards of our F&B operations across the property.
This hands-on role is ideal for a passionate hospitality professional who leads by example, maintains high standards, and creates exceptional guest experiences.
________________________________________ Key Responsibilities: Operational Oversight: o Liaise daily with all Heads of Departments (HODs) to ensure adequate staffing and smooth coordination across departments.
o Be operationally responsible for service delivery and standards throughout the hotel while on duty.
o Ensure the smooth running of all F&B areas in line with agreed standards, and promptly follow up on any discrepancies with the relevant HODs.
o Maintain a constant, visible presence during service timesparticularly lunch, dinner, and banqueting events.
Standards & Compliance: o Conduct regular patrols of the building to monitor cleanliness, public presentation, and back-of-house standards.
o Ensure all fire exits are clear, functional, and compliant with safety regulations.
o Oversee signage throughout the property, ensuring it is current, professional, and meets brand standards.
o Lead and coordinate the team in fire alarm or pre-alarm situations.
Guest Experience & Service Recovery: o Be approachable and available to guests throughout your shift to address and exceed guest expectations.
o Handle complaints calmly and discreetly, ensuring effective service recovery on every occasion.
o Ensure all guest requests, VIPs, special requirements, and events are planned for and communicated via a comprehensive handover process.
Inventory & Cost Control: o Oversee ordering and stock control of all beverage supplies.
o Maintain and monitor par stock levels, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
Training & Development: o Support and conduct in-house training initiatives across the hotel.
o Contribute to the development and performance of the F&B team through coaching, mentoring, and structured feedback.
Documentation & Administration: o Ensure daily and weekly management reports, checklists, and operational records are completed and stored correctly.
o Conduct show-arounds for potential clients and visitors as needed.
________________________________________ Skills & Requirements: Proven experience in a similar Food and Beverage management role within a hotel or hospitality setting.
Strong leadership, team development, and communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to uphold high service standards.
Experience with stock control, ordering systems, and cost management.
Confident in handling complaints and high-pressure situations professionally.
Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends and evenings.
