Title: General ManagerReports to: Managing Director, AutomationMain purpose of the positionThe General Manager is the senior leader accountable for the overall performance of the Business Unit, including financial results, operational execution, customer satisfaction, talent development, and alignment with corporate strategy. This role has full P&L responsibility and leads cross functional teams including Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Business Support functions. The General Manager ensures the Business Unit operates safely, compliantly, and efficiently while delivering high quality engineered solutions that meet customer, regulatory, and business requirements.AccountabilitiesBusiness Unit Leadership & Strategy (annual operating plan, budget, long-range strategy, growth, stakeholder rep)Financial & P&L Accountability (revenue/margin/cost/cash flow, budgeting, capital planning, risk/opportunity)Operational Excellence (KPIs: safety/quality/delivery/productivity/cost, continuous improvement, facility readiness)Customer & Commercial Leadership (customer satisfaction, escalation point, partner with Sales/Commercial)People & Culture Leadership (build leadership team, talent/succession/performance management, policy compliance)Governance, Quality & Compliance (regulatory/quality/safety/environmental compliance; audits)Supervisory Responsibilities (direct functional leaders; indirect BU employees; senior leadership group member)Essential QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or related field10–15 years progressive leadership in manufacturing/automation/engineered solutionsFull P&L responsibility experienceCross functional leadership experienceStrategy execution + operational resultsStrong financial acumen and business judgmentExcellent communication / stakeholder managementGlobal, matrixed organization experienceWillingness to travel domestically and internationallyDesired QualificationsMBA or Master’s in Business/EngineeringRegulated industry experience (medical devices/life sciences/pharma/similar)International/multicultural team leadershipCustom automation/capital equipment/project-based manufacturing backgroundExperience scaling operations during growth
