Financial Accountant – Financial Services
Overview
An established and growing financial services organisation is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its finance team. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role will take ownership of key financial and regulatory reporting areas, support decision-making, and help strengthen the overall control environment as the business continues to grow.
Ideal for a recently or newly qualified accountant with financial services experience who wants a broad, hands-on role with visibility to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Head of Finance with core financial reporting and control activities.
* Take ownership of key balance sheet areas, ensuring accurate reconciliations and robust controls.
* Contribute to the preparation of statutory accounts and audit files, liaising with auditors as required.
* Assist in strengthening financial governance, including documentation, review and sign-off processes.
* Identify opportunities to streamline finance processes and improve the quality and reliability of financial information.
* Partner with finance and non-finance stakeholders to ensure policies, procedures and regulatory requirements are followed.
Experience Required:
* Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
* Post-qualification experience within financial services (e.g. banking, insurance, asset management, lending, payments or similar), either in industry or from a Top 10 practice FS team.
* Strong technical accounting skills and solid understanding of IFRS / FRS 102.
* Experience of financial and/or regulatory reporting within a regulated environment is highly desirable.
* Proven ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
* Must hold EU passport or stamp 4 visa
