Continuous Improvement Manager
Responsibilities
* This involves but is not limited to:
* Leading Lean Business implementation in all aspects of FM COS's business activities and processes as per agreed plans. Ensuring that Lean Business principles are a method of working and are sustained in all aspects of the operation. In general this will be promoted by Leading or Mentoring cross functional teams to achieve project based Lean goals.
* Organise and run the GROWTTH Lean Steering committee including reports to management and corporate. Guide the organisation in Lean Systems implementation. Propose and agree with management Lean cost saving goals and report progress on goals through KPI's and other reports.
* Plan, organise and execute Kaizen events. Ensure full and timely closure of Kaizen event action list(s)
* Train other staff in Lean systems (white belt, green belt) and continuous improvement methodology (Kaizen, VA/VE, 3P, 5S, SMED, etc.). Training to be completed primarily by real practical projects / Kaizen events in conjunction with theoretical learning.
* Ensuring that IT Systems are developed to support the Lean approach and these systems promote efficiency and eliminate waste. Move towards Real Time and Paperless systems.
* Ensuring GROWTTH and Lean Business becomes ingrained in the company culture. Ensure promotion of the Programme by internal posting of successes and activities.
* Ensuring that changes in systems are robust, easy-to-use, simple (as far as practical) and sustainable.
* Ensure that all changes are implemented in compliance with the QMS, ISO13485 / FDA and other regulatory requirements relevant to the Company.
* Demonstrate leadership and commitment with respect to the OH&S, Environmental and Energy Management Systems by developing, leading and promoting a culture which supports the intended outcomes of the management systems. Directing and supporting persons to contribute to the effectiveness of these management systems
* Adhere to Plant Safety requirements and Health & Safety requirements relating to your work, assuming responsibility for those aspects of the OH&S System over which you have control to ensure the health and safety of yourself and others.
* Be aware of the potential environmental impacts associated with your work and the implications of non-conformance.
* Contribute to the continual improvement activities of the OH&S, Environmental and Energy Management systems through participation, providing feedback/ suggestions for improvement and by reporting accidents, dangerous occurrence, near miss/ illness, good catch and environmental incidents in a timely manner.
* Ensure that all changes are implemented in compliance with the QMS,(ISO13485 / FDA) and the OH&S, Environmental and Energy Management Systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO and other regulatory requirements relevant to the Company.
Qualifications
* Required:
* Third level qualification in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Related Qualifications or equivalent
* Qualifications in Lean Business, preferably Black Belt. If not, extensive experience in implementing waste reduction programs/projects using TQM / JIT or similar programmes. Lean Black Belt must be achieved within 18 months of start
* Knowledge and experience of continuous improvement methodology (Kaizen. VA/VE, 3P, 5S, SMED, etc)
* Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing, preferably in HealthCare Industry with an extensive knowledge of production and business systems. Alternative is Automotive industry with extensive Lean implementation history.
* Experience in Project Management with expertise in co-ordinating project teams including motivation of staff, coaching / training, and follow up on actions
* Comprehensive knowledge of IT business systems including Business systems (preferably IQMS), Quality systems and other computer based systems
* Excellent communication, training, problem solving and facilitation skills with high levels of personal drive and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, strong business and technical acumen. Ability to define and agree company and personal goals for continuous improvement activity and deliver on these goals
