Job description
RTR Electronics Ltd are seeking an SMT Technician to join our rapid growing team. The role will involve monitoring, maintaining and adjusting equipment for PCB manufacturing.
Primary functions
· Operate SMT and test equipment to produce SMT boards according to standardized workmanship.
· Program, debug and maintain SMT pick and place machines.
· Inspect solder joint and component mounting using the naked eye and/or magnification.
· Create soldering profiles for SMT reflow equipment.
· Check machine readiness and conduct continuous monitoring of machine operations.
· Ensure the right components are used in production.
· Check the conformity of products by performing basic quality auditing, testing, and troubleshooting functions.
· Clean the SMT machine, tools, and equipment.
· Implement identified improvements.
· Support area leads and operators.
To be successful in the role, you must have:
· Third Level Electronics qualification .
· Experience in operating surface mount machines (pick and place, reflow oven etc.)
· Great attention to detail.
· High level of interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate optimally with management and colleagues.
· Team-player, proactive, committed to providing high-quality work able to operate various automated assembly equipment.
· Ability to work under own initiative.
· IPC 610 certification an advantage.
· Use inspection & measurement equipment (such as 10x lamps, 7x-30x microscopes, X-Ray to monitor quality levels and record data on SPC charts.
· Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
Ability to work overtime and/or flexible hours when required.
