Our in-house fleet is central to our operations, ensuring meals are delivered safely, reliably, and on time to schools nationwide.As our fleet continues to grow, we are now seeking an experienced Garage / Mechanic Manager to lead and develop our in-house workshop.The RoleThis is a primarily hands‑on role responsible for managing the day-to-day operation of our in-house van fleet workshop. You will ensure all vehicles are serviced, repaired, and maintained to a safe, compliant, and professional standard. As the workshop develops, this role will also include the supervision and development of additional mechanics.Reporting to: Operations / Transport / Fleet ManagerKey ResponsibilitiesWorkshop ManagementManage daily workshop operations and maintenance schedulesPlan, prioritise, and allocate maintenance and repair workMaintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environmentEnsure tools, equipment, and diagnostic systems are fit for purposeFleet Compliance & SafetyEnsure all vehicles remain roadworthy and fully compliantMaintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and documentationEnsure compliance with Health & Safety, RSA, and environmental requirementsOversee safe handling, storage, and disposal of oils, chemicals, and wasteStaff Supervision & DevelopmentManage own workload independentlySupervise and support additional mechanics as the workshop expandsProvide technical guidance, monitor standards, and support training and developmentParts, Stock & AdministrationManage parts identification, ordering, and stock controlMonitor parts usage and control workshop costsComplete job records and update fleet/workshop management systemsProvide updates on vehicle condition, downtime, and maintenance needsAbout YouProven experience managing a workshop or fleet environmentStrong organisational and planning skillsAbility to work independently and manage workload effectivelyLeadership capability with potential to manage and develop othersNVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Motor Vehicle MaintenanceFull European driving licenceWhy Join The Lunch Bag?Key leadership role within a growing in-house fleet operationOpportunity to build and develop a workshop teamSalary range of €50,000 - €65,000, depending on experience
