Senior Java Engineer – Data & Risk Platform
This position is with the Dublin office of a leading multi-strategy hedge fund. You will gain invaluable insights and exposure to markets & risk, working directly with the risk team on data-driven projects. You will join a backend-focused engineering team responsible for building the core services and data pipelines that power the firm’s risk analytics systems. The platform processes large volumes of market and trading data to support real-time risk monitoring, analytics, and reporting. This is an opportunity to work on high-impact backend systems, solving complex data and performance challenges in a technology-driven environment.
Responsibilities
Designing and building backend services in Java that power the firm’s risk analytics platform
Work directly with business leaders, risk managers and quantitative teams to deliver analytics tooling
Optimising backend services for performance, scalability, and reliability
Contributing to the design of new platform capabilities as the system evolves
Skills / Experience
Java (recent versions preferred).
Event-driven architecture
SQL & relational databases
Experience or interest in market risk and financial products (preferred but not essential).
