Manufacturing Engineering Technicians are directly involved in troubleshooting and technical support of process, materials, and equipment operations.Come for a job, stay for a careerA Day in The Life Of:Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:Perform a variety of duties in the Electronic, Mechanical, Electromechanical and/or Optical areasConstructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, devices, or systemsDevelops Engineering solutions using DMAIC mythology in a COS environmentWorks from schematics, Engineering drawings and written or verbal instructionsOperates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed I.T. formatPerforms calibration and alignment checks, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutionsProvide technical support in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement, IT, and product developmentResponsible for the installation, calibration, and preventative maintenance of on-line process equipment and for the preparation, maintenance, and control of appropriate documentation outlining product processing work stepsProvide technical support to Lean Sigma initiatives/continuous improvement projects or other task/project teams as requiredAssist with Engineering and Manufacturing trainingSupport and participate in corrective/preventive action procedures and support the collection and trending of product line metricsKey Skills & Experience We are looking for a qualified person with a minimum NFQ Level 6 qualification in a relevant discipline or in the process of completing a Level 7/8 degree having already achieved a Level 6 qualification in a relevant disciplineAvailable to work 3 Day Weekend Shift which runs Friday (7 hours) and Saturday & Sunday (12 Hour Shifts) or 2 Day Weekend Shift which runs Saturday & Sunday (12 Hour Shifts)Ability to demonstrate Medtronic traits in their work and good presentation skills are desirableThe ideal candidate will be:A dynamic team player and can work effectively and proactively on cross-functional teams.A good communicator and fluent in English, both in writing and speak.Experienced with computer literacy and team dynamic skills.Knowledge of statistical tools is an advantage.PANELS Please note this is an opportunity to apply for the Manufacturing Technician III – Weekend Shift panel. Successful candidates will be placed on a panel for a period of 12 months after which the panel will then be reviewed. Candidates on the panel will be considered and may be selected as suitable positions arise.
