Overview
Transport Manager – New Ross role at Sysco Ireland. Key Accountabilities
* Managing/leading the transport management and distribution team
* Coordination of all Transport activities ensuring the smooth running of the depot
* Responsible for efficient dispatch of all routes and products to customers on a daily basis
* Coaching and motivating members of the delivery team
* Liaising with sales, transport, and operation departments to resolve issues in a timely manner
* Working with Sales teams to ensure effective and efficient delivery schedules
* Ensuring delivery procedures and policies are adhered to; equipment breakdowns and repairs are minimised and reported; premises maintained to high standards
* Maintaining company vehicles: proper maintenance, cleaning and safe operation to reduce accidents and enhance the brand
* Managing Backhaul collections and ensuring adherence on a daily basis
* Managing Transport Compliance to industry-leading standards
* Identifying, coordinating and delivering training as appropriate
* Ensuring Security and Health & Safety Procedures are adhered to at all times
* Leading by example and applying company policy and procedures in a fair, consistent and unbiased manner
Requirements
* 3+ years' experience in a relevant management / supervisory role in a high volume, technology-driven, time-sensitive multi-drop distribution operation
* Experience within the Food distribution industry is advantageous
* Full driving licence; Management CPC advantageous
* Competent in IT systems including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
* Proven ability to manage a team to deliver the highest standards of service
* Proven ability to be an effective decision maker with a hands-on approach
* Ability to plan and organise own and team work activities safely, efficiently and effectively
* Ability to analyse, interpret and present relevant business data
* Fluent English – reading and writing
* High flexibility and problem solving skills
* Strong knowledge of Department of Transport regulations (Tachograph legislation, Work Time Directive, etc.)
* Strong knowledge of the surrounding geographical area
