Buyer / Planner - Part Time - Galway City with 3 years' experience in a professional buying position along with experience in material management and medical device environment. Contract situation for 6 months.
The Buyer/Planner will be an experienced professional with knowledge of the medical device development industry. The key responsibility of this role will be to support our overall program from a buyer/planner aspect and to work closely with the team.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and have the ability to work in a self-directed manner with minimal direction and supervision.
Responsibilities:
1. Analyse build plans to make decisions for purchase order quantity, delivery date and inventory levels and place orders accordingly.
2. Negotiate best pricing and lead times with suppliers.
3. Expedite material deliveries to meet build plan as required.
4. Book deliveries onto the purchasing system.
5. Issue material to production.
6. Maintain computerised purchasing database, investigate any inventory discrepancies and resolve any invoice/delivery/receiving issues.
7. Monitor supplier performance and set up key performance metrics (KPIs).
8. Work with R&D on supplier/material selection.
9. Collaborate with the relevant internal stakeholder to address any material or quality issues are they arise and provide feedback to the supplier.
10. Carry out supplier risk assessments to ensure continuous supply of materials.
11. Look for innovative ways to reduce cost.
12. Follow established policies and procedures that assure compliance to regulatory standards.
Requirements:
13. Minimum three years' experience in a professional buying position along with experience in material management.
14. Experience working in a GMP/Medical Device environment.
15. Experience in the purchase and management of different material commodities.
16. Experience in purchasing, supplier relations, material planning and inventory management.
17. Proficient understanding of MRP.
18. Familiarity with product specifications.
19. Strong influencing and negotiating skills.

21. Effective verbal and written communication, analytical and interpersonal skills.
