Financial Operations Specialist

This is a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of supplier payments and supporting other AP functions, while reporting to the Financial Controller.

1. Process all purchase invoices across multiple business units in a timely manner for effective cash flow management and minimize financial risks.
2. Responsible for weekly and monthly supplier payment runs to ensure timely payments and maintain good relationships with suppliers.
3. Perform monthly supplier reconciliations to statements to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
4. Support purchasers in identifying non-conforming purchase orders and resolve queries and requests from suppliers in a timely and professional manner.
5. Maintain accurate reporting on a weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly basis to provide stakeholders with up-to-date information.
6. Complete month-end process steps in line with agreed timelines to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
7. Identify, classify, maintain, and protect files, documentation, and sensitive information in accordance with record handling and retention requirements.
8. Assist with year-end audit and internal audit work as required to ensure regulatory compliance.
9. Support the finance team with day-to-day operations, including reception cover, phone cover, general admin, data entry, and mail management to ensure seamless support.
10. Contribute to a positive organisational reputation through professional, friendly, and respectful interactions and communications internally and externally.
11. Perform other duties as required or assigned to meet the needs of the role.

What you'll need to succeed

12. Accounting technician or equivalent qualification.
13. Have 2 years' experience in a similar role of high-volume AP with a proven track record of success.
14. High level of accuracy and attention to detail with strong numerical ability and analytical skills.
15. Excellent organisational and communication skills, and a positive, enthusiastic attitude with a passion for delivering results.
16. Ability to multitask and prioritise workload with excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
17. High level of IT proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
18. A team player who will work closely with all departments in the company and is willing to learn and develop their skills.
