Apply today for a January startSQL Server DBA Roles and Responsibilities:The successful candidate will join an existing team to support the management and optimisation of clients' database environments.What is involved:Manage and maintain on-prem SQL Server environments, including installation, configuration, patching, and backups.Work with supporting technologies such as storage, Active Directory, Always On, and Failover Clustering.Automate routine tasks using PowerShell and SQL scripting.Handle incident, problem, and event management to minimise downtime and ensure fast resolution.Communicate effectively with stakeholders and produce clear documentation.Optimise database performance using monitoring tools and industry best practices.Contribute to the design, setup, and configuration of database environments across online, batch, and reporting workloads.What you need:Minimum 3 years' experience as an on-prem Microsoft SQL Server DBA.Strong knowledge of SQL Server administration, HA/DR, and virtualisation (VMWare/Hyper-V).Experience with Azure SQL Database & Azure data servicesSolid experience with automation scripting and performance tuningFamiliar with Microsoft IDE's, Visual Studio, Azure DevOps/GITExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage complex issues efficiently.Ability to work in a service-oriented environment with SLAs, prioritisation, and customer service desk interactions.What's on offer:Competitive daily rate depending on experienceHybrid working model- 1-2 days per week on siteStrong possibility of contract extensionApply NowIf you would like to discuss this opportunity in person or with one of our IT Resourcers please forward your CV to Vantage Resources or contact Eric Seery on or for a confidential discussion.
