With a Head office in Bluebell, Dublin and a manufacturing plant in Kilkenny, Carroll Joinery are looking to hire an experienced Factory Manager to run the door manufacturing facility in Kilkenny.
Reporting to the Managing Director, this strategic role will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the factory, as well as its development to support growth plans.
Key items include people engagement, monitoring production, enforcing safety regulations, procurement, storage & distribution.
All within the context of delivering quality, on time product to our customers.
This role is a key member of the management team and will be highly involved in creating, implementing and leading the strategic plans for future growth of the company.
Factory Manager Duties: Manage and lead all facility, production, and administrative departmentsEnsure that the facility runs efficiently with the highest productivity possibleEnsure that each department is producing products of the highest possible qualityMaintain constant communication with employees, suppliers, and vendorsKeep up to date on all current events and issues in the manufacturing industryOversee safety protocols and programsEnsure that all employees and subcontractors are following all safety protocolsFactory Manager Responsibilities: Ensure production targets are achievedTrain, motivate, and supervise factory operations while adhering to all safety, performance, and environmental standardsDirect and ensure all production, quality control, and quality assurance processes are implemented to promote productivity output, product quality, and company reputationManage and motivate employees to ensure job is accomplished efficientlyOversee key production decisions, including production and quality control-related staffing, scheduling, and materialsSupport the development of an ERP system, as well as future development of sameManage and supervise all warehouse and shipping operationsRequirements and Skills: Bachelor's degree or 5+ years experience in engineering and operations managementExperience in design and development of new manufacturing processesStrong leadership and team building skills.

This criteria extends outside the factory team to other departmentsKnowledge of manufacturing, industrial, and safety standards and proceduresProven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a constant eye on safety & qualityAbility to multi-task is critical, along with an ability to manage conflicting objectives, within a project driven environmentFlexibility to operate at strategic level down to day to day issues, as part of a small / mid-sized companyA basic Lean qualification would be advantageous, but as a minimum a Lean mindset is critical
