Celtic Interconnector Commissioning Manager (E2025195)
We are now seeking a Commissioning Manager to join our Celtic Interconnector Project Delivery Function.
As Commissioning Manager, you will play a key role in managing the interconnector commissioning phase requirements and coordinating all commissioning activities to ensure compliance with Grid Code and project specifications.
Your responsibilities will include coordinating with project schedulers, engineering management, and works package managers to ensure activities are correctly incorporated into project schedules. You will proactively identify and mitigate issues related to activity coordination. Additionally, you will develop commissioning reporting systems and performance indicators to track milestones and manage contractor activities throughout the commissioning period.
The Team
The Finance Office provides timely financial information to the Board, Executive, and Management, and develops internal control procedures and financial systems to meet regulatory and statutory requirements. It supports all Group Directorates in delivering EirGrid’s strategic objectives.
The Celtic Project Delivery Function is responsible for planning and delivering the Celtic Interconnector Project, which will enable the exchange of 700 MW of electricity between Ireland and France. This involves 575 km of cable, including 500 km underwater, capable of supplying electricity to 450,000 homes.
About You
Successful candidates will have:
* A relevant degree or equivalent qualification with 10+ years of experience in a dynamic environment, ideally in the energy sector.
* Knowledge of Irish transmission system Grid Code requirements and commissioning needs for HVDC interconnectors / FACTS devices.
* Proven experience in the design and commissioning of HVDC interconnectors / FACTS devices onto transmission systems.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills to guide, persuade, and influence others towards shared goals.
* Leadership ability and experience in managing large-scale EPC projects.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of articulating technical concepts to non-technical audiences and senior leaders.
* Resilience, innovation, and a track record of resolving multi-party issues.
* Experience in introducing innovative solutions to business problems.
* A commitment to continuous professional development.
* Irish Driving Licence.
