Technical Project Manager (Java / Enterprise Systems)Location:Dublin (Hybrid - 1 day onsite per week)Contract:Daily rate contractStart:Immediate or short notice (max 1 week strongly preferred)Role OverviewWe are seeking an experiencedTechnical Project Managerto manage delivery across a team of Java developers working on complex, enterprise-scale systems. This role requires a strong technical foundation combined with proven project delivery experience in structured environments.You will not be hands-on coding, but youmustbe technically credible, able to understand architecture, challenge estimates, identify delivery risks early, and communicate effectively with senior technical stakeholders.This role will suit someone who has already delivered multiple technology projects end-to-end and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Key Responsibilities:Own and drive delivery of technical workstreams from initiation through to completionManage a team of Java developers and coordinate across technical and non-technical stakeholdersCreate, maintain, and track detailed project plans, dependencies, milestones, and risksAct as the primary point of contact for delivery status, risks, and issue resolutionEnsure delivery aligns with agreed scope, timelines, and quality standardsSupport governance activities including reporting, RAID logs, and steering updatesTranslate technical detail into clear, structured updates for senior stakeholdersRequired:This role is not suitable for non-technical or purely administrative PM profiles.Essential:Proven experience managing software development projects in enterprise environmentsStrong understanding of Java-based applications and architecturesHands-on experience working with development teams using:JavaAPIs / Web ServicesSQL & relational databasesUnit and integration testingSolid working knowledge of Agile and/or Waterfall delivery methodologiesDemonstrated ability to manage delivery risk, dependencies, and technical complexityExcellent stakeholder management and communication skillsDesirable:Experience with Spring FrameworkExposure to modern frontend frameworks (Angular or similar)Familiarity with XML / JSON data formatsExperience with integration technologies (ETL, Mule or similar tools)Understanding of legacy systems and system modernisation initiativesExposure to NoSQL technologiesAdditional RequirementsMust be immediately available or on a maximum 1-week notice periodMust be comfortable working in a hybrid Dublin-based roleCandidates must be able to demonstrate real delivery ownership, not just coordinationBerkley Business & Technology is a specialist consultancy, recruiting professionals for organizations throughout Ireland, UK & Europe; for more information go towww.berkley-.If you would like to discuss this vacancy further or to discuss your career options in confidence, send your profile to -
