Were recruiting for a Regional Health & Safety Advisor (Grade VII) to take the lead on Health & Safety matters across a network of community-based services in the Waterford and Wexford region. This is a standalone, autonomous position ideal for someone who thrives in a flexible, self-managed environment. Rather than enforcing safety protocols from the top down, this role requires a personable, approachable, and persuasive communicator someone who can bring people on board, build relationships, and make safety feel relevant, practical, and easy to engage with. Key Highlights Autonomy: Youll plan your own week decide which sites to visit and when, and balance time working from home or from one of 10 key regional offices. Blended Working: Enjoy the flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week or choose any of the local offices across the Southeast region. Diverse Portfolio: The sites include administrative hubs, early years inspection offices, and family support centres predominantly in Waterford & Wexford. What Were Looking For We're not looking for someone to crack the whip. We want someone who can build trust, lead by example, and embed safety into culture through conversation, collaboration, and consistency. Ideal candidates will have: A Level 8 qualification (or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety At least 3 years experience in a multi-site or community-based setting Strong working knowledge of Irish H&S legislation and management systems A likeable, down-to-earth communication style with the ability to relate to staff from all backgrounds Confidence to work independently, plan and organise your own diary, and travel regionally as needed An appreciation of traditional Irish workplace culture and the nuances of influencing teams in community-based environments A full drivers licence and access to a vehicle (mileage covered) What Youll Be Doing Conduct and follow up on site visits, audits, and risk assessments Support line managers with compliance, training, and ongoing H&S awareness Create a visible and friendly presence across offices and sites Lead by influence gently, respectfully, and effectively Report on findings, incidents, and initiatives Promote a positive, proactive safety culture You Might Come From: Public sector (e.g., HSE, HIQA, Local Authorities, Defence Forces, OPW) Healthcare, community services, or not-for-profits Large campuses or facilities (e.g., universities, manufacturing, or logistics) Construction or regulated environments where stakeholder management is key Why Apply?
