Clinical Nurse Manager 1 - Medical/Surgical Unit (Maternity Leave Cover)
Location: Galway, Ireland.
Temporary, full-time position (37.5 hours per week). Short-term maternity leave cover.
Immediate start, full-time contract.
Responsibilities
Oversee the daily management and coordination of the Medical/Surgical Unit.
Ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered nursing care.
Supervise, support, and mentor nursing staff to maintain clinical excellence.
Monitor and evaluate patient care, ensuring adherence to best practices and hospital policies.
Manage staff rostering, workload allocation, and resource utilization effectively.
Promote a culture of safety, quality improvement, and continuous professional development.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
Current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience, including at least 1 year in surgical nursing or a related area.
Demonstrated clinical, managerial, and administrative capability to effectively perform the role.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proven ability to motivate and lead staff.
Flexibility in work practices and adaptability to changing demands.
